Keith Howell

From his U.K. roots to his life and careers in Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Japan, and the U.S. Keith combines his passions and talents for science, environment, travel, and culture. His experiences and communications skills have informed his travel guides, science writings, and editorial work with insights and cultural depth. He has a masters degree from Edinburgh University, and has taught English in several countries. His philanthropic work includes volunteering with the American Red Cross.

When not immersed in San Francisco Bay as a Dolphin Club member, Keith has written for and edited magazines including Oceans, Whale, Pacific Discovery/California Wild, and Napa Valley. His publications have won many awards, including Best West Coast Magazine (Oceans).

Howell has been a judge with the International Ocean Film Festival Screening Committee since 2006, and for the San Francisco International New Concept Film Festival.
