Education Program

We invite Bay Area middle and high school classes to participate in one of the Bay Area’s most engaging ocean education experiences: the International Ocean Film Foundation’s 20th Annual Free Student Education Program.

Taking place on April 9–10, 2026 at the BATS Theater in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, this 90-minute program features a curated selection of short films from around the world that educate, entertain, and inspire students to explore the ocean—both above and below the waterline.

Films highlight topics such as marine life, ocean recreation, marine ecology and conservation, and coastal cultures whose livelihoods depend on the sea. Screenings are followed by interactive Q&A sessions with visiting filmmakers and special guests, offering students a unique opportunity to connect storytelling with real-world science and environmental careers.

Pre-registration deadline: Friday, February 20, 2026
Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration helps determine interest and does not guarantee placement; official confirmation details will be shared in early February.
