Since 2004, the International Ocean Film Foundation (IOFF) has been recognized around the world as the premier ocean-themed film festival for its compelling, inspiring, and thought-provoking independent films.

As a nonprofit arts organization, IOFF relies on the loyalty, passion, and financial contributions of our donors to present four days of special events and the best independent ocean-inspired films from around the world. We couldn’t make it happen without your support! 

Support the IOFF Education Program

In keeping with our mission to inspire people of all ages to care for our oceans, the IOFF believes that all young people deserve access to the awe-inspiring and educational ocean films presented at the film festival. However, not all kids can access the resources that allow them and their families to attend the festival.

Through the IOFF Ocean Education Program, students throughout the Bay Area can attend the festival free of charge with their school group. Your generosity can help the IOFF host more than 1,200 kids at our special free programs, giving them a unique opportunity to experience the ocean in a whole new way — especially important for those kids who don't live near the coast and may rarely (or never) even see the ocean.

DONATION OF APPRECIATED STOCK

The IOFF can accept appreciated stock as a donation. When an individual contributes securities directly to a charity, the receiving organization gains the full proceeds from the sale, and an individual can potentially eliminate capital gains exposure. QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DONATIONS

Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from a retirement account can be made as a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) up to $100,000 when an RMD is withdrawn. Please consult with your tax advisor. If you have any questions, please email us at donations@intloceanfilmfest.org.

TAX Deductible Donations

All cash donations are tax deductible up to the extent allowed by the IRS. The IOFF is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Please email us if you have any questions about your donation. Our tax ID number is 36-4568001.

HOW YOUR DONATION Is Used

Your contribution helps underwrite the costs of producing the annual festival, which showcases dozens of stunning ocean-related films — many of which will not be seen again in the Bay Area.

Every dollar you donate goes toward our growing Ocean Education Program for Bay Area students, helping us bring the most exciting ocean-inspired films and filmmakers to San Francisco. Contributions also help us expand our outreach to offer the films and their messages to even more students through our Online Ocean Education program and more audiences through our Traveling Program.
