The International Ocean Film Foundation (IOFF) proudly presents a special 1-hour educational program designed to entertain, engage, and inspire middle school and high school students around the globe. This dynamic virtual event features a curated selection of six official festival films, each highlighting powerful stories from around the world that explores the wonders of the ocean and the urgent need for environmental stewardship.
At the heart of IOFF’s mission is a commitment to education and ocean literacy—empowering the next generation of ocean leaders with knowledge, inspiration, and a deep respect for our planet’s waters. Through independent film, IOFF seeks to be the premier platform for ocean education and ocean literacy.
This educational program exemplifies the IOFF’s belief in the power of storytelling to spark curiosity, foster understanding, and encourage action—inviting students to see the ocean not just as a distant environment, but as a shared responsibility.
19th Annual Free Student Education Program for Middle School and High School Students
Thank you to all of the teachers and students who joined us for the 19th Annual Free Student Education Program. Our program was hosted at the Roxie Theater and at Cowell Theater in Fort Mason, San Francisco! This 2-hour event featured a curated program of official selections from the main film festival designed to entertain, engage and inspire middle school and high school students from across the Bay Area. The core value of the mission of the International Ocean Film Foundation is education and ocean literacy, and to be the premier platform for ocean education and literacy through independent film.
The program featured a lineup of films centered around ocean topics. In addition, we had esteemed marine education guest speakers, filmmakers and scientists sharing their insights and knowledge.
